Tonight at 6:00pm there is a Trek fireside in the chapel. Everyone is welcome to attend!


Playgroup will be this THURSDAY at 10-12 at the zoo park (outside zoo). Playgroup will meet twice a month now.

Aug 27th 11-2:00pm there will be a combined activity with the Scott City ward at Dean Wiley park.

Sunday July 10th

We have been out of town for three weeks and I don't know about you but I feel completely behind on what is happening in the ward!!

Here is what happened today

Ward Business:

Releases
Jared Waters was released as Ward Clerk

Called and Sustained
Lance Palmer was called as Ward Clerk

Abe Kentner, son of Kaleb and Jennifer Kentner, turned 12 and is advancing to young men's. He received the aaronic priesthood today and was ordained a deacon. Congratulations to Abe and the Kentner family, this is very exciting!!

Confirmations:

Christian Ayaya and Alexandria Barbara were confirmed today.

Announcements
Playgroup will be held on Wednesday at 10-12:00 at McDonalds.

Tuesday July 26th, Quilting group will be sewing the quilt pieces. They will meet at 7pm at the church.

Elder and Sister are teaching an English class three times a week: Sunday 1pm, Tuesday-8pm and Thursday- 8pm. Each class is 30 minutes long.

Sunday June 12th

Ward Business:

Gaberiela Rameriz was called relief society instructor.
Jared Torres was called as young mens 2nd counselor

Confirmations
Carlos Fertado, Crystal Ramero, Sergio Ramero and Patricia Ramero were all confirmed today.

Abe Kentner, son of Kaleb and Jennifer Kaleb, received his Faith in God award. Yay for Abe!!

Announcements:
Playgroup will be at the boat park on Wednesday from 10-12. The boat park in on Walnut street across from the library.

This Saturday, June 18th there is a ward activity. Please bring a dessert. There will not be dinner, just dessert and games. Everyone is welcome to come for the fun!!

Quilting Group will meet on June 21st at 10-11am and 7-8pm at the church. They are making quilts for the humanitarian group.

Elder and Sister Howlett are teaching an English class three times a week at the church. The times are: Sunday- 1pm, Tuesday-8pm and Thursday- 8pm. The classes will last for 30 minutes.

Brother Rex Davis

I just got a little update from Sister Davis concerning Brother Davis. He has been transferred to the University of Colorado Hospital. He is out of ICU and is in a regular hospital room. He is feeling a little better but still has a long ways to go. He could really use our prayers right now. Here is his address if anyone is in the Denver area:

The Salazar family is going to be baptized today. Maria and her three sons, Alex, Andy and Adrian.

Brother Ken Rishel is in the hospital in Pratt having shoulder surgery. Please keep him in our prayers.

Brother Rex Davis in the hospital in Garden City. He is in ICU and could really use our prayers and thoughts.

Playgroup will be at Long park (corner of Spruce and Evans) at 10:00 to 12:00.

Announcements

Next Sunday will be the 5th Sunday of the month so RS and Priesthood will be combined.

Playgroup will be held at Finney Park (outside of the zoo) at 11:00 on Wednesday. It will be a luncheon, so please bring a sack lunch.

Young Women are still looking for people to help them sew skirts and bonnets for the Trek. Please contact Michelle Steel if you would like to help.

Young Women still need items for the hygiene kits they are making. If you could donate, 4 toothbrushes, 1 tube of toothpaste, 2 bars of soap and 15"x22" hand towels.

I'm taking a different approach for the pictures. If you have an updated picture of your family, please email them to me at cheezmonk@hotmail.com as soon as possible. Please have them be updated, not 2 or 3 years old. If you don't have an updated picture, I will take one for you after church next Sunday.

Sister Heaton

Sister Kathy Heaton had surgery to get her gall bladder removed Wednesday morning. The surgery went great and she went home that evening. She is at home resting.

Brother Kester

Brother John Kester is in the hospital due to a kidney infection. He is in Pittsburg, KS, visiting his daughter, Barb. He has been in there for four days and continues to have a high fever. He doing well other than that. He does need your prayers. So please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Brother Kester has been released from the hospital.

Keeri Johnson is graduating from high school this weekend!!! Yay for Keeri! To help celebrate this great accomplishment, she is having a graduation party on Saturday, May 21 at 12-2:00pm at the church. Lunch will be served. Please bring a side dish if you can. Her graduation is at 7:00pm on Saturday at GCHS

The young women are in need of some items for hygiene kits. If you could donate these items:

I am now in charge of bulletin boards and starting next week, I will be taking family pictures for it. Please stay after a little longer so I can take your picture and put it on the bulletin board. Thanks!

Hygiene Kits

The young women need our help in making some Hygiene Disaster kits. They are in need of people to donate some or all of the following items:

Bars of soap

Toothbrushes

Tooth paste

Hand Towels 15"x22"

If you can help, please bring the items to church this Sunday or the following Sunday. Thanks!

Sheri Dew Fireside

I just wanted to remind everyone that there is a fireside tonight at 6:00pm at the church. Sheri Dew will be speaking. Sheri Dew is an amazing woman, she was in the general Relief Society presidency and is the CEO and president of Deseret Books. You will not want to miss this!! Fireside is for all women over 12 and refreshments will be served afterwards. Hope to see you there!
